Restoration / Native Planting was a Huge Success!

Thank you to the over one hundred fifty volunteers who helped plant 1550 native plants, removed four dump truck loads of concrete and debris, installed 300′ of barriers, and created space for a new informal parking lot. These hardworking volunteers exceeded our expectations for such a extensive multi-faceted work event. This level of success was completely unexpected. This was our first Restoration Project in the BRP.

REI is CLOSED on Black Friday! Yes, you read that correctly.

Screen Shot 2015-11-02 at 12.00.56 PMREI has been one of Friends of the Black Run Preserve’s biggest supporters from the beginning. They are dedicated to embracing the outdoors and spending life being active.  They just announced that all 143 stores will be CLOSED on Black Friday, one of the biggest retail shopping days of the year.  This move makes their dedication to the outdoors clear.

REI is so dedicated to the outdoor life that they are PAYING their employees to take the day off and enjoy the outdoors.  They are standing true to their mission with their #OptOutside campaign and are using Black Friday as a perfect day to remind people of the outdoors and to help everyone rediscover their passion for the great outdoors.

Our Clean-Up Was A Huge Success

On Saturday, May 16th, 62 AWESOME volunteers came out to participate in a joint clean-up of Black Run Preserve with the help of Evesham Public Works and the Clean Communities Program!

With the help of our volunteers, the Clean Communities Program, and the Evesham Township Public Works Department, there were SIX TRUCKLOADS of trash, pallets, tires, concrete, and construction debris hauled out of the Preserve. The Preserve’s natural beauty is much more enhanced through our volunteers efforts, the Clean Communities Program and to the Evesham Township Public Works Department.

On behalf of the Friends of Black Run Preserve, a HUGE “THANK YOU!” to each and every one of you who spent your time and energy to help.  Our members share your caring and are working to improve the Black Run Preserve so it’s protected not just preserved land.
