MEETING POSTPONED TO MID-MARCH DUE TO BAD WEATHER

Dear Friend of the Black Run Preserve,

The FBRP’s next General Membership Meeting has been rescheduled @ 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 3rd, upstairs in the Community Room of the REI store in Marlton at the corner of Brick Road and Route 73 South.  Your input and suggestions are important to our organizational success.

In addition to a variety of annual outreach and special events, FBRP will be looking for volunteers interested in participating in the following:

  • Citizen Scientist bird nest box monitoring project led by local birder, Darlene Emers, and Marc Zamkotowicz, BCC Assistant Professor of Geographic Information Systems.
  • Citizen Scientist Stream Monitoring Project led by Jody Carrara, Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC).
  • Trail Crew trail construction and maintenance projects.
  • Fundraising Events.

As an official nonprofit, the Friends of the Black Run Preserve is growing and due to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we have the means to hire a part time coordinator.

Why does FBRP need a coordinator?  Much work needs to be done if the Black Run Preserve watershed is going to survive as the last local remnant of pristine Pine Barrens.  FBRP needs a coordinator to increase our membership, organize volunteer activities, and to become more nimble in our communications with the surrounding community.

Thanks for your help and support.

Sincerely,

John Volpa, Founder and FBRP Chair
