Beat the Heat Nature Hike - Sunday, July 12, 2026

7/12/2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM ET

It may be hot out, but we've got some truly cool spots to show you. Join our ambassadors for a morning hike through Black Run Preserve as we explore the History, Geology, Flora and Fauna in some of the preserve’s most unique locations. It’s cooler than you think in the surrounding forest and we'll explain why during the walk. We will hike approximately 1.5 to 2 miles in two hours with frequent stops.

The hike starts promptly at 9:00 AM to stay ahead of the heat so please arrive at 8:45 AM for check in and instructions.
Porta-pottys are available at the start of hike. Our trails have hard and soft sand, slight elevations, roots, and stumps and some wet areas.

Be sure to bring: plenty of water, sunscreen, and bug spray. Let’s keep it cool—see you there!
