The Friends of Black Run Preserve and landscape photographer Richard Lewis are pleased to announce mini 2 hour sunrise and sunset photography workshops at the Black Run Preserve. These workshops are for anyone from beginners to serious photographers.

Richard Lewis has been hiking and photographing in the Black Run Preserve for many years and has identified several great places to view and photograph the sunrise and sunset. These workshops are limited to 10 people in order to not crowd the locations we will be going to. Rich will also be on hand help you with camera settings and composing your photographs. The goal is to for you to get some great photographs of this unique piece of the New Jersey Pinelands.

Sunset 2 Hour Photo Tours

Limited to 10 People. We will meet with plenty of time to hike a short distance to our location. We’ll photograph the sun setting over the bogs and forest and remain to see the start of the twilight hour.

What you need to know

These groups are small so Rich can provide as much time as possible with each of you to help navigate the site, provide ideas, instruction and to discuss the technical and artistic side of photography.

Nature and weather are unpredictable, especially in the Pine Barrens. Each day can bring a different experience. Understanding that it is important to help ensure that you get great photographs while experiencing the beautiful Black Run Preserve.

Speaking of weather, we will photograph in most conditions, rain or shine. However, heavy rain and other dangerous weather conditions may force the workshop to be rescheduled.

You are free to cancel and get a full refund up to 30 days before the workshop. After that you will receive a refund if we can fill your slot. I will make every effort to do so.

Once you register, you will receive more details about the workshop including a list of recommended equipment and clothing.

The cost of the this workshop covers the instruction and access to the locations we will be photographing at. It does not include transportation, to and from the workshop, lodging, meals, etc.
