Upcoming Members Only Events
We are currently running a Semi-Annual Membership Drive Contest (July 1-Dec. 31). There are three opportunities for a chance to win a BRP hat and t-shirt.
- New Members: join under the membership tab on our site
- Renewal: Current members will receive an email reminder one month prior to their renewal date. Click the link provided to renew.
- Referral: Any current member who refers a new member. Be sure to have the new member fill in your name in the space provided.
Members receive:
- Proud Member of BRP magnet
- Bi-monthly Ambassador led tours (weather permitting)
- Discount on special events (guided hikes, Poker Run, members’ socials…)
- Name entered into Membership Drive Contest drawing.
Membership fees contribute to:
- Trail Maintenance (BRP is owned by the township, but maintained by volunteers.)
- Trail Signs
- Educational signage
- Administrative costs

BRP Photo Scavenger Hunt
FBRP ambassador, Ron Pugh, captured some unique features in the BRP and is challenging
you to a photo scavenger hunt for some fun on your next trip to the BRP.
How it works:
There are 12 photos of scenes you will find somewhere in the BRP that you can duplicate. The
photos can be found either in the FBRP Photo Scavenger Hunt Event page on Facebook or on laminated sheets
available at the three kiosks at the trailheads on the east side (Kettle Run Road East, King’s
Grant and Bortons Road). Take a photo (selfies are encouraged) and post them to the Friends
of the Black Run Preserve Facebook page or the Black Run Preserve Community
Facebook page. Be creative and have fun exploring. The scavenger hunt is open to all.
Members Only Contest:
The FBRP membership committee is hosting a contest for its members who submit entries.
Photos for the contest must be submitted to the “FBRP Photo Scavenger Hunt Event”
posted on the FBRP Facebook page or can be emailed to jdean@blackrun.org. Points will be
awarded for correct matches. At the end of the contest, entrants with the highest scores will be
awarded prizes (ties will result in a drawing).
First place: Custom Walking Stick crafted by FBRP ambassador, Ron Pugh
Second place: FBRP t-shirt
Third place: FBRP baseball cap
The contest runs Sept. 1- Nov. 30. Only FBRP members will be eligible for prizes. Not a

Kettle Run Road East Trailhead
Come visit us at our open house for an opportunity to learn about the BRP, its history, and ecology from FBRP Founder and educator, John Volpa.
Current and new members will receive a free FBRP Member magnet that can be displayed on your car or wherever you want to show your FBRP pride. Stop by, say hello, and pick up your magnet. Additional quantities are available for purchase.
