Carleton and group fish sample near bog STI 09 Day 2 MHJoin the Friends of Black Run Preserve (FBRP) and the Evesham Environmental Commission at Community Day in the Black Run Preserve on Saturday, June 1, 2013.  The event will include guided hikes as well as time to explore the Preserve, Evesham Township’s 1,300 acre open space gem of pristine Pine Barrens.  Learn about the Preserve and then return often to walk and bike with your family and friends.

TIME:  8:45 am – 12:15 pm

REGISTRATION: You may pre-register for a guided hike (recommended)

MEETING LOCATION: Marlton Middle School all-purpose room.

150 Tomlinson Mill Road, Marlton.

You may sign up for one of four guided hikes (at the Middle  School or through pre-registration). First come, first served.

A school bus will shuttle people from Marlton Middle School to the Preserve . Bus leaves the school at: 9:00, 10:00, 11:00.

Allow two hours for the roundtrip for the hike and time to see our displays in the all-purpose room.

There will be educational presentations and live Pine Barrens animals courtesy of the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge inside the all purpose room.

You can also pick up a map of the Black Run Preserve and maps for other Pine Barrens areas.

Wear closed walking shoes and dress for walking in the woods.  Please, no flip flops or open sandals — people wearing these will not be taken on a guided hike.
Recommended: long pants and long sleeves, sunscreen and bug spray, refillable bottle of water.
